Carol Lynn Childers
A member of the American Psychiatric Society and the Illinois Psychiatric Society, Dr. Carol Lynn Childers is a mental health specialist who has treated patients with chronic mental illnesses and addictions for more than 25 years. After completing a rotating internship and earning a doctor of medicine from Montreal's McGill University in 1986, Dr. Carol Lynn Childers completed a residency with the University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry, where she participated in a clinical training program in family therapy and served her final year as chief resident.
Dr. Childers earned board certification in psychiatry in 1992, while she was working as an assistant professor with the University of Chicago. Two years later, while serving part-time with Community Counseling Centers of Chicago, she opened her own practice where she focused primarily on psychopharmacology. In 2013, Dr. Childers performed consulting work for Circle Family Healthcare Network before being hired as a full-time hospitalist with the Methodist Hospital of Chicago.
